Family Weekend Break in Redditch, Birmingham

Enjoy a family weekend away in Redditch, by staying at the Holiday Inn Express Birmingham Redditch. This is a great Midlands hotel for all the family to enjoy, along with being situated in the perfect location for many great family attractions.

Must see attractions are the Cadbury World, Warwick Castle, Shakespeare’s Birthplace Trust and Stratford upon Avon. Where else could you enjoy an unlimited amount of Curly Wurly’s and Crunchie Bars? If you are sucker for romance, then why not visit the birthplace of the man who basically invented love, - William Shakespeare! however the only thing that springs to my mind when it comes to this story is the actor who plays Romeo - Leonardo Dicaprio, now I must say he bring a new meaning to the word love.

For more educational attractions, then why not visit either the Falstaff's Experience or the Thinktank Museum. The Falstaff’s Experience takes you back to the time of Henry the eighth. In today’s society he would be classed as the male equivalent to Elizabeth Taylor. The Thinktank museum is a great family day out where you can enjoy both science and technology from the past and the present. However the highlight to this museum has to be the state of the art Planetarium (this is a classic Ross and Rachel – ‘Friends moment), where you can tour the night sky and fly through the galaxy without stepping outside.

Now if your children spend too much time watching TV or playing on the computer and you are after them spending more time outdoors, then there are many Country parks that the whole family can enjoy. The first is Cannon Hill Park  this offers a picturesque landscape and a large boating lake. The second is Sheldon Country Park which is an old Rectory Farm which highlights the traditional methods of farming and children can enjoy seeing and touching all the different farm yard animals.

If you are looking for somewhere where the children can both enjoy themselves and be exhausted, in order for you to relax in the bar with a couple of drinks, then why not take the children to Solihull Ice Rink or Planet Ice at The Leisure box. I guarantee that after a full day skating, they will soon become the next Torvill and Dean. Another great attraction is F1 Karting West Midlands. Picture a colder and less picturesque version of Monte Carlo and imagine that you are the next Lewis Hamilton.

Set in landscaped gardens with plenty of free secure parking, with fantastic 2012 packages available and the hotel being positioned in an ideal location, this is surely the venue for you!
